nance of which I had to accept (for reasons stated), although a settle- ment with Reiss is still pending in regard to their continuing the busi- ness after the 30th. June next,
The following day, the Texas Company wrote confirming this charter, asking me officially to open the usual credit, and I now en- close a copy on their letter together with my reply thereto of the fol- lowing day

As you will note, I made a point of writing them that your
Bank was the most suitable one for this business, as to which I beg
to refer you to what I wrote on page 11 of my letter of the 21st ultimo under FINANCE.
